About Us

Borofsky, Amodeo-Vickery & Bandazian, P.A. was founded in 1978 as a firm devoted to representing the legal needs of middle income people across New Hampshire. As The Legal Clinics, we broke new ground ushering in many new practices which today have become standards in the legal industry, such as written fee agreements, flat fees and standard legal forms. In 1996, acknowledging our longevity, community service and increasing focus on personal injury, workers’ compensation, disability and other civil litigation matters, we changed our name to Borofsky, Lewis & Amodeo-Vickery, P.A. In July 2001, the governor appointed Attorney John M. Lewis to a Superior Court judgeship, and with his departure from the firm, we took on our current identity. We continue with our dedication to representing individuals in civil litigation and diverse legal matters with experience, efficiency and caring.

How Do I know If I Qualify for Social Security Disability Benefits?

Social Security Disability was created to provide financial assistance to individuals suffering from a medical impairment that is expected to last at least 12 months or is expected to result in death. In order to qualify for Social Security disability benefits an applicant must be able to show:

  1. That they are a U.S. citizen or meet the Social Security Administration’s requirements for non-citizens;
  2. That they have little to no income or resources;
  3. That they have held a job where a portion of their earnings was paid into the Social Security disability program;
  4. That they suffer from a disability as defined by the Social Security Administration; and,
  5. That their disability prevents them from performing any substantial gainful work activity.

An experienced Manchester Social Security disability attorney can evaluate your claim and help you determine whether or not you are entitled to benefits.

What If I Have Previously Applied and Been Denied?

Many initial applications for Social Security disability are denied. A denial of your initial application does not in any way mean that you are not qualified for disability benefits. The Social Security Administration is responsible for making a decision regarding each application for disability that they receive. Unfortunately, many times they simply make the wrong decision.

The fact is, many applicants who take the time to appeal their initial denial go on to receive approval. If you have previously applied for benefits and believe you have been wrongfully denied, our Manchester Social Security disability attorneys can assist you with your appeal. Our attorneys will evaluate your application and help you gather any additional evidence you may need to prove your claim. Our attorneys will also review the SSA’s reasoning behind your denial to ensure that their decision was properly made under the law.
